CP/HP can match several IV spreads — enter your stardust level to narrow it.
What this means
IVs are three hidden values (Attack, Defense, Stamina) from 0 to 15 that set how strong a Pokémon can get. The game never shows them, but CP and HP are computed from them via CP = floor((Atk+IV)·√(Def+IV)·√(Sta+IV)·CPM²/10) and HP = floor((Sta+IV)·CPM). This calculator tries every IV combination at your level (or all levels if unknown) and keeps only those reproducing your exact CP and HP. Because several spreads can match, the result is a range, not a single answer — entering the level narrows it dramatically.
Recommendations
- Enter the level from the stardust cost to cut the possible spreads down sharply.
- Appraisal in-game (star rating) filters the IV band further — 4★ is a perfect 45.
- Prioritise high IVs for Pokémon you'll invest stardust in; species and moves matter more for casual play.
Watch out
- Multiple IV spreads can share the same CP and HP, so the result is possible ranges, not certainty.
- CP/HP must be exact — rounding or a powered-up Pokémon breaks the match.
